ENHANCEMENT ITEMS
Feng Shui items to help the flow of Qi positive energy
Throughout your life, there will be times when you feel that no matter what you do, things don’t seem to change. In Feng Shui, the reason for this is Qi energy is stagnant; therefore, the situation cannot change. However, as previously discussed, using Feng Shui methods will help release the stagnant energy and allow the Qi to flow, resulting in opportunities coming into your life and things changing for the better. To add an extra boost of energy and luck to the process, “enhancement items” may be used.
Here we will review several “enhancement items” for their purpose and best placement. These items add an extra boost when working on releasing stagnated Qi energy. Use the Bagua and the 9 Key Areas in your Life chart to find the best placement for an enhancement item. By using the Bagua, you can identify the areas that need an extra boost in your life.
Although a few recommended placements for the enhancement items are provided, use the Bagua to find the area best suited to place the item(s) for your situation. If you would like to use any of these items in your home, office, or place of business, see below for the purchasing link.
Remember, our goal is to see positive changes in your life.
Laughing Buddha
The Laughing Buddha attracts good health, children, wealth, success, and happiness into your life. In Japan, he is known as Hotei and is one of the Seven Lucky Gods, and he is also known as a “Guardian of Children.” He was always known to have something in his bag to help someone in need and spread cheer and goodwill to everyone he met. Therefore, having a Laughing Buddha in your home, office, or business attracts many blessings.
Qi Energy Boost:
- Find the Prosperity/Abundance corner in the bagua and place a Laughing Buddha in that area in your home or place of business. The positive Qi energy will attract good fortune and wealth into your life.
- For help improving your concentration and productivity, place him on your desk.
- Place him by the entrance of your home, opposite the main entrance, and have him face in. Let him bring in happiness, peace, and harmony.
Noteworthy
- Never place a Laughing Buddha on the floor, as it is disrespectful.
- Never place a Laughing Buddha in a bathroom or kitchen.
- Always place him on a table or shelf at eye level or higher.
- Remember to use the Bagua to find the best location for the greatest energy boost.
A Laughing Buddha with all this positive energy is a must-have in your space.

The Lucky Elephant
In Feng Shui, the lucky elephant symbolizes fidelity, strength, protection, good fortune, and wisdom. In addition, the elephant is also known as the “Grantor of Wishes” and a protector wherever you place them. Remember, this may be in your home, office, or place of business. Elephants with trunks up or down are auspicious; the only difference is how the luck is shared. For example, elephants with their trunks up share their luck and blessings outwards, whereas those with their trucks down focus on maintaining good fortune and wisdom within the area.
Here are a few things to know when placing your lucky elephant(s). First, when placed by an entrance, they must face the door as you want them to protect the home, office, or place of business. For reinforced protection, prosperity, and success, place a pair of lucky elephants standing side by side by the entranceways. When putting them in any room within the home, set them facing toward the room they are in because you want their blessings to stay within the room. For best results, use the Bagua to show you which area you need the extra lucky boost in and place a Lucky Elephant there.
Best placements:
- Place a pair of elephants by the front door for protection.
- Place one in the bedroom for love and fidelity between the couple.
- Place one by the desk or in the study room to increase wisdom.
- Place a lucky elephant in your career area for personal growth.
Noteworthy
- When placing the lucky elephants by the entranceway to your home, office, or business, place a pair of elephants side by side and have them face the door. Having the lucky elephants facing the doorway enhances their protection and blessing remaining within.
- If the lucky elephant is chipped or damaged, replace it. The goal is to have Qi flow, not get stuck.
Fu Dogs – also known as Imperial Guardian Lions
The Fu Dogs, also known as the Imperial Guardian Lions, are used in Feng Shui for protection from negative energies and power inside and outside your home, office, or business. They come in a pair. The female has a cub under her left paw, representing her protection and loyalty for the dwellers inside the home, office, or business. The male has a ball under his right paw, symbolizing his authority and control over his world. They combine their respective Yin/Yang energy to create a strong bond and united front.
Best placements:
- Place them by the entrance to your home, office, or business.
- Place them by the cash register in your business; remember to have them both facing out.
- They may be placed by a window facing out if you don’t have an area by the entranceway.
Noteworthy
- The Fu Dogs must always be placed as a pair, facing outwards and never at each other.
- When placing them by an entrance, ensure that the female always has the cub between her and the male. This means that when looking at a house from the outside, the female lion will be on the left side, and the male will be on the right.
- If any of the Fu Dogs gets chipped or damaged, replace it.
Mandarin Ducks also known as Love Ducks
In Feng Shui, the mandarin ducks, also known as love ducks, are used to help find true love or to help a troubled relationship. The mandarin ducks mate for life; if one dies, the other will remain alone for the rest of its life. They are a symbol of love, faithfulness, devotion, and loyalty. These are all traits you look for in a healthy relationship.
Best placements:
- Place them in the Love area* to help with your relationship(s).
- If you are married, place them in the bedroom.
- If you are single and looking for a relationship, put them in the living room, bedroom, or home office.
Noteworthy
- Always place them in pairs.
- Never separate them or have only one.
- If a duck breaks or gets damaged, replace it.
- Place these Love Ducks in a clean, organized, and well-lit area.
